(Long Island, NY) The fighting 14 year-old young ladies of Huntington’s U14 HBC Impact soccer team have truly achieved the goal of any underdog challenger who has ever laced up a set of cleats; their road to greatness began by winning the Eastern New York State Soccer Association (NYE) State Cup on May 30 against Farmingdale, and now they are looking to capitalize on their hard work with an even loftier goal- the National Championship after just winning the regional championship title, and they need your support: http://www.gofundme.com/ye9sr98z

The 14 girls of HBC Impact won a hard-fought victory at the NYE State Cup held in LaGrange, NY, followed by the Region 1 Championship out of Barboursville, WV; these victories – something few expected out of a Long Island team – earned them a spot in the National Championship Tournament set to take place in Tulsa, Oklahoma July 19-26.
The road to championship glory has been wrought with hard work and sacrifice, but all of that effort has truly paid off for HBC Impact, enabling them to sweep past the toughest teams in New York and the region and seize victory and a chance for a repeat of that victory on a national stage, according to coach Bill Carroll.
“Back in the fall of 2014 the girls U14 HBC Impact began their journey to Nationals. First, they had to play round robin games within their bracket of the state tournament to earn a spot in the elimination round,” he said. “Not only did they earn their spot, they completed the tournament with all shut out wins straight through the State Championship game, beating finalist Farmingdale X-treme 3-0. This win secured them a spot in the Region 1 Championship Tournament held in Barboursville, WV.”
Among the teams vanquished by HBC Impact on the road to the State Championship were North United of Pennsylvania West, whom they met first and handily beat, 4-2; their second game was a hard-fought win over NYW Empire United Soccer Academy-Buffalo, with a score of 1-0. And the victory that catapulted Impact into the State semi-finals was over Pennsylvania West’s Century V Gold, 1-0.

In the semis they faced yet another Pennsylvania West team, North United, pulling out a difficult out a 4-2 win, and South Shore Select out of Massachusetts, whom HBC Impact vanquished with 2-0 on the scoreboard at the final buzzer. In the finals, not only did the ladies of Impact have to contend with the tough competitors of the NVSC Majestics 00 out of Virginia, but also harsh field conditions brought about by heavy rainfall the night before. However, even that didn’t deter the girls of HBC Impact, who dug deep and used their training, teamwork, and drive to succeed to eke out the 3-0 championship win, earning them the opportunity to go to Tulsa, OK to represent their region in the National Championship Tournament taking place from July 19th-20th.

If you’ve followed any sport, professional or amateur, one thing can be obvious – to be the best, you not only have to train hard and develop the attitude of a winner, but you also have to spend money on lots of stuff- uniforms, training equipment, and anything and everything else that might come along. To that end, the ladies of HBC Impact are asking for assistance from their fellow Long Islanders and anyone else interested in seeing these hard-edged, hard-working competitors achieve their dreams. If you’re willing to donate any amount of money to help them make it all the way to the National Championship and take it all, please visit the HBC Impact Go Fund Me page at: http://www.gofundme.com/ye9sr98z
No donation is too small (or too big!) and any and all help will be appreciated. Help the winning ladies of HBC Impact bring championship gold back to Long Island!
