(Long Island, NY) Le Petit Salon de Musique presents the unique “Music Salad” of piccolo trumpeter David Glukh and organist/pianist/soprano Liya Petrides on February 23, 2014 at 2 p.m.

Piccolo trumpeter David Glukh was born in Moscow where he attended the Gnesin Music School.
This critically acclaimed duo will perform an eclectic program with selections from the baroque music of Torelli and Handel, tangos by Astor Piazzolla, jazz, traditional music from Europe, and romantic music from Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky. No matter what the style, Glukh and Petrides play it with joy and soul.
David Glukh was born in Moscow where he attended the Gnesin Music School. He later immigrated to Israel and served in the Israeli Army Orchestra. Since graduating from The Juilliard School of Music in 2000, Glukh has kept up an active performance schedule as a member of Dallas Brass and as a bandleader, composer and a soloist around the world.
Glukh has performed live television and radio broadcasts across the U.S. and has performed with the Louisville Orchestra, Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Jupiter Symphony, Lyric Theater Orchestra, Raanana Symphoniette, IDF Orchestra, Ulianovsk Symphony Orchestra and Ensemble Melodia.

Organist, Pianist and Soprano Liya Petrides was born and raised in St. Petersburg.
Also a native of Russia, Liya Petrides was born and raised in St. Petersburg. She is currently Music Director and Organist at St. Theresa’s Church in the Bronx as well as organist/pianist at Park Avenue Synagogue.
As an organist, pianist, choral conductor and soprano, Ms. Petrides has performed at venues across the U.S. and beyond. She holds a doctorate in Organ Performance from Juilliard and a masters degree from the Manhattan School of Music. Liya frequently collaborates with choral and orchestral groups, singers and instrumentalists in a wide array of styles from classical to contemporary to folk.
Tickets for this event are $20 at the door or $15 online at www.lepetitsalonorg. Tickets for seniors are $15 at the door or $10 online and for students are $5.
Le Petit Salon de Musique is located at 380 Nicolls Rd., East Setauket, NY and is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Stony Brook (www.UUFSB.org), a non-profit religious organization whose mission includes support for social and economic justice.
