(Long Island, NY) Major Case Bureau detectives report the arrest of a Valley Stream man on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 6:00 am in Valley Stream.
On dates including March 2015, April 2015 and May 2015, detectives received information from the “National Center for Missing and Exploited Children”, regarding a “Twitter” user uploading numerous images of child pornography.

A subsequent investigation by the Major Case Bureau, in conjunction with the Suffolk County Police Department and the FBI resulted in the arrest of Matthew Kerniss, 26.
Kerniss is charged with seven (7) counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child and four (4) counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance of a Child. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 12/18/2015.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
