(Long Island, NY) The Seventh squad reports the arrest of a Wantagh man at 3:55 P.M. on Friday, November 20, 2015.
According to detectives, John Wallace, 25, had knowledge of a vacant house on First Avenue in Massapequa Park. He listed the house on Craigslist as available for leasing. A male victim arrived at the home on Saturday, October 10, 2015 and was shown the inside of the home by the defendant.

The victim returned on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 to see the house again and at this time gave the defendant $2500. An investigation led to Wallace being placed under arrest on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 3:55 P.M. on South Main Street in Freeport.
Detectives ask anyone who feels they may have information about this crime or feels they are a victim of Wallace to contact the Seventh Squad at 516-573-6752.
Wallace is charged with two counts of Burglary 2nd degree and Grand Larceny 4th degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
