Throughout Dyer’s residency from August 20 through 23, there will be several Peconic River-based events while Chris paints the boats along the waterfront on the days leading up to the Cardboard Boat Race on August 23, including a free workshop for teens, film screening, paddleboard demos, and rowing events. For more information, visit HERE.
Chris Dyer is a Peruvian Canadian artist, living in Canada, and traveling the world half of the year. He experiences different cultures and then re-expresses them into his own oneness visions. He serves as a bridge builder between different art movements from skateboard graphics, visionary paintings, street art murals, and more. He wants to break barriers and see everything as one optimistic reality. Though his subject matters are as varied as his styles, his art is just a reflection of his personal spiritual journey. For more, look for his coffee table book, his documentary, or visit him online at www.positivecreations.ca.
Chris will paint row boats to be used for future Peconic River events like the Cardboard Boat Race that will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2015. Main Street, Riverhead, NY. Teens will join Chris for an open brush painting workshop of wooden rain barrels as Chris does a spray painting demo and talks about the history of graffiti, street art, and his intentions of building bridges with visionary art. In the hours he will need to finish his painting, teens will brush paint Peconic Estuary Rain Barrels alongside Chris. Advance registration required.
