McKinnon, who joined CHS in 2001, is deeply committed to promoting the highest values in his community, as well. A Wheatley Heights resident, he founded the Wyandanch Junior Warriors in 2011 to provide mentoring and recreational services through organized sports for children up to age 13. Also, he was the Wyandanch varsity football head coach from 2008 to 2011 and is currently a member of the #Enough Committee, which works with current and former Wyandanch residents, Town of Babylon officials and the Suffolk County Deputy Police Commissioner to eradicate violence. In addition, McKinnon co-authored the Wyandanch Creed to instill pride and personal accountability in youth, and he coordinates food and toy drives through community-based organizations. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where he played quarterback and was a three-year football varsity letter winner.
Catholic Health Services (CHS) is an integrated system encompassing some of the region’s finest health and human services agencies. With 22,000 staff members, six acute care hospitals, three nursing homes, a home nursing service, hospice, a community-based agency for persons with special needs and a regional lab, CHS’s high standards have resulted in a 23% market share.
