(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police arrested a woman for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash that resulted in one fatality and injuries to three other people on Friday, February 19.
Kathy Horan, 61, of Medford, was traveling eastbound on Granny Road when her 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe struck and killed a man, injuring his two passengers and seriously injuring a woman who was standing by her parked vehicle at 8:21 p.m.

Peter Quoma, 28, of Selden, who had exited his 1997 Nissan Maxima after hitting a parked vehicle, was struck by Horan’s vehicle. He was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.
His two passengers, a male and a female, who remained in the vehicle, were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital and treated for minor injuries. The woman, 58, of Lake Grove, who had been standing by her parked vehicle, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries. Horan was not injured.
Suffolk County Vehicular Crime Unit detectives arrested Horan who was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Incident without Reporting Involving a Fatality and Leaving the Scene Involving Serious Physical Injury.
Horan is being held at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on February 20.
The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Vehicular Crime Unit at 631-852-6555.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
