(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police arrested a woman for leaving racist and alarming messages at a church in Amityville on Thursday, July 2.
On Wednesday, July 1, the Pastor of the New Hope Institutional Baptist Church located at 30 Harrison Avenue, Amityville called Suffolk County Police to report a racist and alarming telephone message left at the church. Hate Crimes Unit detectives were notified and initiated an investigation.

Detectives arrested Elisa Pellino at her home in Farmingdale at approximately 5:50 p.m.
Pellino, 66, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Harassment 2nd Degree as a Hate Crime.
She will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on July 3.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
