(Long Island, NY) Fashionistas dictate strictly that Labor day weekend traditionally marks the end of wearing white. That’s right darlings, no more white slacks, shoes, dresses and bikinis. So one such famous fashionista gives his glamorous White Party in celebration of the color white each year on Labor day weekend to end the Summer season. Last night was rap mogul P. Diddy’s annual famous White Party held in East Hampton.
A-list celebrities from all over the globe flew in on their private jets to attend the biggest, grandest most exclusive event in the Hamptons. Security was strict and in full force turning away guests that were not ensembled in designer white from head to toe.
My source revealed that an enthusiastic partygoer was asked by security enforcement to strip off his cream-colored pants outside the party and was handed a pair of pure snow white trousers provided by P. Diddy himself so that he could enter the soiree at Diddy’s East Hampton waterfront mansion. Billy Joel’s wife was also asked to change after arriving in a cream color dress.

The over the top event featured Polynesian dancers, painted geishas strolling the grounds, a jazz band and a circus performer twirling six spinning rings.
A-listers that were happy to oblige the strict white dress code were Mariah Carey, Star Jones and hubby Al Reynolds, Donna Karan, Lil’Kim, Lorraine Bracco, Gina Glickman, Brooke Shields, Russell Simmons who always wears white and Tommy Lee who never wears white. Rapper 50 Cent was not at the show stopping party and my source revealed the two don’t see eye to eye. The rapper revealed, “In business, I respect what he does. But if we liked each other, we’d call each other to talk for no reason. And me and Puffy, we don’t have conversations.”
Unfortunately the hip hop mogul was denied his plans for a $100,000 firework display. East Hampton Town officials rejected the rapper’s proposal for a lavish display of spectacular fireworks in fear that it would attract boaters to a dangerous, rocky area. P. Diddy felt it would finish his grand event off with a nice big bang! William McGintee,Town Supervisor felt his extravagant fireworks might interfere with another fireworks display nearby.
P. Diddy’s birth name is Sean John Comb and was given the nickname Puffy as a child because he would huff and puff when he did not get his way. His signature trademarks are his fabulous 10 karat diamond studs, his sunglasses and his affection for wearing classic white. One of his many famous quotes have been “I feel safe in white because deep down inside, I’m an angel.” I met Sean at Fashion Week when he launched his own clothing line named ‘Sean John’. Combs is one of the wealthiest people in the American entertainment industry.
In 2002, he was featured on Fortune magazine’s “40 Richest People Under 40” list and was placed on top of list of the list as the ten richest people in hip-hop. He has donated undisclosed amounts to the Patricia Kirby Foundation, an organization that battles teenage bulimia and other eating disorders. Sean has caused much controversy in his illustrious career including a highly publicized episode In December 1999. Combs and his significant other at the time Jennifer Lopez, were at a hot Night Club in New York when shooting and gunfire occurred. After a thorough police investigation, Combs and fellow rapper Shyne were arrested for weapons violations and other charges. Combs was indicted after his driver claimed that Combs had tried to bribe him into taking the weapon after the shooting. With bribery charges added to the bill, Combs was being attacked in the tabloids on a daily basis. Before the trial was over, Combs found himself in court on numerous civil charges.

The highly-publicized trial began with a gag order in place,. His famous lawyer was Johnnie L. Cochran Jr.. After the trial was over, Combs luckily was found innocent and was acquitted on all accounts but his artist Shyne was convicted on the same charges and sentenced to ten years in jail. Ms. Lopez was not charged and shortly after the couple split. Not only famous for being a hip hop mogul and fashion designer, Sean recently has acted in various projects.
He took on the role as a drug dealer in the movie “Made,” and he portrayed the role of Walter Lee Younger in the critically acclaimed revival of the 2004 Broadway play “A Raisin in the Sun.” Combs revealed he adored appearing in the Broadway production and being given the opportunity to perform on stage. He attracted huge crowds for his performance in the New York production, received mixed reviews, and admits to desperately wanting to pursue an acting career. He also appeared with Halle Berry and Billy Bob Thornton in the film “Monster’s Ball.”
He also starred in “Carlito’s Way: Rise to Power.” Mr. Combs recently mentioned that he would be interested in playing the black-version of James Bond.
Diddy finally accomplished recording his latest LP, entitled Press Play, featuring collaborations with, among others, Christina Aguilera, Nas, Big Boi, Twista, Just Blaze, Pharrell, Brandy, Mary J. Blige and Keyshia Cole and was released on October 17, 2006. Oddly the hip hop mogul has a fear of clowns known as coulrophobia a condition so severe that he reportedly insisted on a “No Clowns” clause in his contract prior to appearing on the TV show “Fear Factor” in 2001.
