(Massapequa, N.Y.) The Nassau County Police Department has reported the details of an arrest for Robbery that occurred on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 4:26 AM in Massapequa.
According to Seventh Squad detectives, a 25 year old female victim was working at Dunkin Donuts, 1000 Carmans Road, when an unknown subject entered the store and asked for a donut. The subject tried to pay for the donut with a debit/credit card, but was declined. The subject then displayed a handgun and demanded money.
Nassau County Police officers responded to the scene and noticed a single set of footprints in the fresh snowfall. The officers followed the footprints to a home on Park Lane. After an investigation Victor Fabian, 21 was taken into custody.
The employee complied and the subject fled the scene on foot toward Carmans Road. The subject was described as a dark skinned male hispanic, wearing a black Northface hooded jacket, dark colored sweatpants with a white stripe and a dark multicolored piece of cloth draped across his face.
Seventh Precinct officers responded to the scene and noticed a single set of footprints in the fresh snowfall. The officers followed the footprints to a home on Park Lane. After an investigation Victor Fabian, 21, of 350 Park Lane was placed under arrest. The debit/credit card and the above clothing along with a glass pipe containing what appeared to be marijuana and a pill believed to be oxycodone were recovered at the home.
The defendant is being charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st Degree. He was arraigned on February 14, 2014 at First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
