(Long Island, NY) The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Wyandanch woman for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 7:10 P.M in Syosset.
According to detectives, second precinct officers observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Miller Road with no front plate. They conducted a car stop and discovered the vehicle, which was being operated by Jennifer D. Mitchell, 33, of 323 New Avenue, had a suspended registration. Through investigation the suspect was found to be in possession of 76 fraudulent ten dollar bills and had a loaded shotgun in the trunk of the car.

Mitchell is charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st degree and Environmental Conservation Law, Firearm, Loaded Shotgun in Vehicle along with several vehicle and traffic law violations. She will be arraigned on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
