(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police are investigating the crash of a motor vehicle into a commercial building, damaging the structure of two businesses in West Islip on Monday, September 21.
Michael Bidetti, 40, was operating a 2010 Maserati southbound on Udall Road when he lost control of his vehicle at the intersection of Higbie Lane and crashed into the side of Higbie Bagels, located at 264 Highbie Lane, damaging the entire front portion of the bagel store and then crashed into the front portion of the adjoining store, Flavor Crisp Chicken, located at 262 Higbie Lane, at approximately 10:30 p.m. Both stores were closed at the time of the crash.

Bidetti, of West Islip, was transported to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
