(MINEOLA, NY) “Over the past several years, New York State government has taken several important steps to improve the fiscal health of the state, reduce the tax burden, and have removed obstacles to businesses,” said Senator Kemp Hannon (R-Nassau). “We reformed tax policies, cut taxes and encouraged economic growth – but more can be done, and we want to know how the private citizen would like to change New York tax policies to reduce your burden and to help businesses create new jobs.”
Five public hearings have been scheduled statewide to allow New Yorkers to directly communicate their ideas to the Senate on tax reform, and the Nassau County hearing is on October 3, at the Legislative and Executive Chamber in the Nassau County Office Building (1550 Franklin Avenue, Mineola). This will allow the public to provide their ideas for how we can ease the tax burden on all New Yorkers taxes and encourage economic growth.
“These hearings will feature testimony from regional and local business owners and taxpayers from the private sector,” said Hannon. “Following the public input, we will craft tax reform proposals we hope will become state policy. We look forward to bringing these ideas to the Governor for his consideration when he assembles his executive budget for next year.”
